A First Date: A Chance To Shine
In the lives of many young people this summer the question will certainly arise, “what are some fun first date ideas?” It can be a daunting question because each person wants to have a great time with their new interest, and he/she wants to make the first experience they have together something to remember. There are hosts of simple ideas that can lead to a day or night that will bring a new couple closer, and create something to remember for many years to come.
The first date need not be too adventurous, as a simple idea where time can be forgotten is enough. Here are a few simple fun first date ideas:
1. Take a leisurely walk. The first date is a time to take things slow and find out how well the relationship meshes. Most early couples think this idea is far too simple, but that is a misconception. Conversation is the fastest way for two people to really figure out who the two of them are. As the walk progresses the conversation will too and will only create more questions as both fish for answers. However, there can be a tendency to discuss old relationships, and this is a huge mistake that could cost the offending party some major points.
2. An outdoor picnic. This idea allows the magic of conversation to happen and sharing a meal in an intimate environment can foster some much-desired closeness. Picnics are a simple and great idea because there is potential for magic in an setting both know. As a bonus, it is a chance to go easy financially on a date.
3. Go for coffee. Coffee and the smell of roasting beans is the modern day staple courting ritual. Especially in colder weather, grabbing coffee and talking together can feel like a safe and secure respite from the bitter weather outside. Not only will the hot beverages get the blood and conversation going, but also the cast of characters in coffee shops, or right out the window, offer some good conversation starters.
If the idea of the day is to be a bit more adventurous, there are some fun first date ideas that require a little more of an investment and forethought:
1. Visit a newly opened restaurant. For those who live in cities and developing areas, new restaurants offer the opportunity to try something new together. Not only can the conversation always rest on the nuances of the food, but also analysis of the atmosphere offers up plenty of good food for conversation. Though it must be cautioned that eating at a new place does have its risks in both the quality of the food, and the tastes of the couple. That is a risk that may just need to be faced.
2. Go to a comedy club. Another for the city folks is to go out to a comedy spot. It offers the chance to talk over a few drinks and hear something potentially funny. Because the person on stage will do much of the talking, it may be difficult to keep a long conversation going though, so before or after plans should be considered.
3. Pick a band and go. Most cities have magazines that lost musical performances for the week or month. One person can close their eyes, and point to a name on the page. That is the show to see for the night. Though it could end in disaster with something obscure and terrible, even that may be enough of a bonding experience and a memory to solidify the bond.
For any kind of couple there are a million ideas and variations on old ideas to create some experience that is unique and memorable. With a little creativity and some luck, any idea can become something truly magical.
